Tabitha Benton-Evans
Tabs is a Cornish-Scottish director, writer and theatremaker. They recently completed a MA in Opera Directing from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and have since been working in opera and music theatre as a director, assistant director, stage manager and writer.
Directing credits include: From Tulip, To Orchid (With Love) for Birmingham Opera Company, Gaṅgā for Wandsworth Arts Fringe, The Burning Question for Tête-à-Tête Contemporary Opera Festival and A Dinner Engagement for RWCMD. They are focused on making interdisciplinary, alternative and collaborative work with a particular interest in site specific theatre.
They have worked as an assistant/associate director for companies including Blackheath Halls Opera, Charles Court Opera, Welsh National Opera and the National Opera Studio. They also regularly perform as a cabaret artist and drag king, sing with the London Philharmonic Choir, and are currently developing their play, Flower Face, with Pushback Theatre.
